The OBC Cell of the college is established to support and safeguard the interests of students belonging to Other Backward Classes in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission and the Government of India. The cell aims to promote equal educational opportunities, social justice, and an inclusive academic environment within the institution. It assists OBC students in obtaining scholarships, financial assistance, and other government benefits, and provides guidance for their academic and personal development. The cell also addresses grievances related to discrimination or difficulties faced by OBC students and ensures the proper implementation of reservation policies. Through awareness programs and support services, the OBC Cell encourages students to achieve academic excellence and actively participate in various academic and co-curricular activities of the college.

The ceremony was graced by Shabina S, Deputy Director of the Backward Classes Development Department, Ernakulam Region, who attended the program as the chief guest. In her address, she highlighted the importance of educational empowerment among students belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community. She also explained various government initiatives, scholarships, and welfare schemes introduced by the Backward Classes Development Department, Kerala to support students in their academic journey. Her talk encouraged students to actively utilize these opportunities and strive for academic excellence and personal development.
The program aimed to familiarize students with the objectives, functions, and responsibilities of the OBC Cell in the college. During the session, students were informed about the different support services offered by the cell, including guidance regarding scholarships, financial assistance, academic support, and grievance redressal mechanisms. The initiative was designed to ensure that OBC students receive equal opportunities in education and are able to participate fully in academic and co-curricular activities.
The event also served as a platform to motivate students to become more aware of their rights and the institutional mechanisms available to support them. By introducing the OBC Cell and its activities, the program helped students gain a better understanding of how the cell works towards creating an inclusive and supportive campus environment.
