The department of Commerce was established in the year 2003. The programmes offered by the department are

• B. Com Computer Application
• B. Com Finance and Taxation

In order to facilitate the overall personality of the students the department organizes orientation programmes for the newly admitted students, cultural programmes, inter class competitions, industrial visits, remedial coaching, subject specific guest lectures and extra lectures. For the final year students soft skill development workshops, English speaking camps, information Technology (IT) workshops, student exchange programmes and many more extra-curricular activities. The students are encouraged to participate in various inter collegiate competitions and have done so with distinction and aplomb. The various add on courses provided by the department are GST, Tally ERP and practical accounting. SAP is also provided to the final year under graduate students. For the holistic development, Walnut conducts a five day workshop for the final year graduate and postgraduate students.
